Frequently Asked Questions
About SnapScan
What is SnapScan?
SnapScan is a free online tool that allows you to add watermarks to images, videos, and PDFs without uploading your files to a server. All processing happens directly in your browser, ensuring maximum privacy and security.
How does client-side processing work?
SnapScan uses modern web technologies like HTML5 Canvas and WebAssembly to process your files directly in your browser. This means your files never leave your device, ensuring complete privacy. The watermarking process happens entirely on your computer or mobile device.
Is SnapScan really free?
Yes, SnapScan is completely free to use. There are no hidden fees, subscriptions, or premium features. All watermarking tools are available to everyone without any limitations.
Using SnapScan
What file formats are supported?
For images: JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, and more.
For videos: MP4, WebM, MOV, and AVI.
For documents: PDF.
Is there a file size limit?
Since all processing happens in your browser, the file size limit depends on your device's memory. Generally, files up to 500MB should work fine on most devices. For optimal performance, we recommend keeping files under 200MB.
Can I watermark multiple files at once?
Currently, SnapScan processes one file at a time. Batch processing is on our roadmap for future updates.
Can I save my watermark settings for future use?
We're working on adding user accounts that will allow you to save your watermark presets. This feature will be available in a future update.
Privacy & Security
Are my files uploaded to your servers?
No, your files are never uploaded to our servers. All processing happens directly in your browser using client-side technologies. Your files remain on your device at all times.
Do you collect any data about my files?
No, we don't collect any data about your files or their contents. We only collect anonymous usage statistics to help us improve the service.
Can SnapScan work offline?
Once the page is loaded, SnapScan can work offline for basic watermarking functions. However, some features may require an internet connection.
